Toadstool Cottage I is part of my ongoing Home Is Wherever You Imagine It series. This original cyanotype features a tiny cottage perched on a toadstool, with a full moon above and forest below. I added matte and metallic watercolor to bring in subtle shifts of light and a touch of color.

How Cyanotypes Are Made
Cyanotypes are created by coating paper with light-sensitive chemistry and exposing it to sunlight. After exposure, the print is washed in water, revealing rich blue tones shaped by light, time, and chance. Each cyanotype is unique.
